Slovak-language newspaper in USA
Thursday, December 22nd, 2005I recently found out that there is a slovak-language newspaper published in the USA (in Brooklyn, NY). According to them they are the only slovak-language newspaper published in the United States. I was looking for one because I im interested about any events that going on in local Slovak community in NY/NJ/CT area - festivals, music concerts, etc. Paper like this would also post advertisements to target Slovak immigrants - it means info on local places to eat that have Slovak food, stores that sell with Slovak national symbols (baseball caps, hockey jerseys - replicas of national team, etc.), and travel agencies that specialize on central Europe which usually means better travel deals. Anyway, the newspaper called Slovensko Dnes (Slovakia Today). It comes once a week, one full year subsctiption costs $150, half-year subsctiption - $75. To subsribe go to their website - http://www.slovenskodnes.com/ to get their email address, and request subscription form. They can email it to you as a graphics file that you can print out, fill in, and then send to them along with check or money order (if you’re not paying by credit card).
Here’s their other contact information i got from subscription form a couple of month ago:
